Wholesale Cheesemonger - Mellis Cheese
Our Wholesale Cheesemongers handle, care for and deliver exceptional cheese across the UK. This is a hands-on physical role that will have you based primarily at our Maturing Rooms in Leith, working alongside a small close-knit team.
What you will do day-to-day:
· Pick, cut, pack and prepare orders for our six retail shops and wholesale customers across the UK
· Handle and organise heavy boxes of cheese and loaded pallets safely
· Drive delivery routes, loading and unloading goods and getting our cheeses safely and on time to customers
· Caring for a variety of artisan cheese in line with company standards
· Keep the warehouse immaculate; stock rotation, inventory checks, pallet prep and dispatch
· Follow all food hygiene, health and safety and manual handling procedures
What we’re looking for:
· You must hold a full and valid UK driving license, experience driving a small van is preferable
· Content working in a chilled environment and out on the road for prolonged periods of time
· Experience working in food retail, hospitality or warehouse background preferable
· Happy to work independently and part of a team
· Comfortable with sustained heavy lifting
· Strong attention to detail
What we offer:
· £12.85/hour paid weekly in arrears
· 40-hour contract – shifts of 6-8.5 hours, Monday-Saturday rotational rota

Interview process – what to expect:
We aim to review applications within 3-5 to working days. If you are selected, we will arrange an introductory online interview. You should expect to discuss your relevant work experience and interest in the role. If successful, second stage interviews will be held on sight with Manager or Company Director.
