Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our services, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Nights Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join our warehouse operation.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse activity, supporting team performance, maintaining compliance standards and ensuring safe, efficient and productive shift operations.
As Warehouse Shift Supervisor, you will lead and support warehouse colleagues during your assigned shift, ensuring operational targets are achieved safely, accurately and efficiently.
You will be responsible for managing workflow, allocating tasks, supporting staff development, maintaining standards and ensuring effective communication between shifts and departments.
This role would suit someone with strong warehouse experience, a hands-on leadership style and the confidence to manage people, performance and operational priorities in a busy warehouse environment.
You will oversee daily warehouse operations during your assigned shift, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and in line with operational requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing, supporting and motivating warehouse staff to maintain productivity, efficiency and service standards.

Planning and allocating daily tasks to ensure operational goals and warehouse KPI targets are met.

Monitoring team performance and addressing any issues promptly and professionally.

Ensuring adequate staffing levels across the shift, including supporting the management of overtime, absence cover and seasonal workforce requirements.

Completing effective shift handovers and ensuring clear communication between shifts, departments and management.

Completing return-to-work meetings and supporting Bradford Factor absence management processes.

Carrying out investigations where required and participating in the disciplinary process in line with company procedures.

Completing full inductions for all new starters, including agency workers, ensuring they are fully aware of warehouse processes, procedures, health and safety requirements and site standards.

Completing probationary reviews and supporting new employees through their initial employment period.
You will play an important role in developing a capable, confident and flexible warehouse team.
This will include:

Providing training, guidance and mentoring to warehouse employees.

Supporting ongoing training in areas such as inventory management, equipment handling, workplace safety and warehouse procedures.

Identifying skills gaps and supporting development plans to improve individual and team capability.

Encouraging cross-training across warehouse activities to improve workforce flexibility, resilience and operational efficiency.
We are looking for a confident, reliable and proactive warehouse leader who can motivate people, manage priorities and maintain high operational standards.
The successful candidate should have:

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop employees.

Experience working in a busy warehouse or logistics environment.

A good understanding of warehouse processes, stock control and operational procedures.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems and logistics software.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.

Excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.

The ability to manage conflict professionally and constructively.

A flexible approach to working hours, including nights and weekends where required.
The ideal candidate will have:

At least 3 years’ experience in warehouse operations.
-
At least 2 years’ experience in a leadership, supervisory or team leader role.

GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent.

Forklift certification is preferred, but not essential.
-
Experience or knowledge of BRC accreditation would be advantageous.

A high level of honesty, integrity and accountability.
