Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Supervisor to help lead the front-of-house team in Bar 1880. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service to our club members and guests, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and supporting large-scale club events, match days, and private functions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company standards
- Assist in event planning and coordination, including booking, setup, execution, and breakdown of functions
- Lead, motivate, and manage team members, providing training and support to optimise performance
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, till reconciliation, and basic daily cellar management (e.g., changing barrels, line cleaning).
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the bar and event areas
- Act as the face of the club during shifts, warmly welcoming members and guests, and swiftly resolving any customer queries or complaints.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience within hospitality environments
- The ability to lead by example and set a high standard for others to follow
- Strong knowledge and experience of bar operations, cellar maintenance, and stock control
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Leadership qualities combined with a friendly, professional demeanour
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and guest satisfaction
- A personal license is highly desirable, though training can be provided for the right candidate
- Approximately 30 hours a week. Candidates must be available to work primarily evenings and weekends to align with our trading times
