Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs within a school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, pupils, and external specialists to facilitate inclusive learning experiences. Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programmes to pupils with special needs
- Support children with autism, disabilities, or behavioural challenges to access the curriculum effectively
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with diverse learning requirements
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment conducive to learning and development
- Aid in the organisation of classroom activities, resources, and behaviour management strategies
- Support children’s personal care needs, including toddler care when required
- Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support
- Monitor and record pupils’ progress and behaviour, providing feedback to the teaching staff
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive teaching methods
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and external specialists
- Compassionate and patient demeanour with a genuine interest in supporting children's development
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Prior experience working with children in educational or care settings is advantageous
- Organised approach to managing classroom activities and individual pupil needs

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
