About the Role:
As an assistant buyer, you'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager and wider Purchasing team, helping to ensure the timely procurement of materials and components that keep our manufacturing operation running efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Purchasing Manager with day-to-day purchasing activities.
- Raise, review and process purchase orders.
- Liaise with internal departments to support production and business requirements.
- Work with the Purchasing team to identify, onboard and develop new suppliers.
- Chase suppliers for quotations, purchase order acknowledgements and delivery updates.
- Maintain accurate purchasing information within the ERP system.
- Assist with purchasing cost-saving initiatives and supplier performance improvements.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Purchasing team.
About You – we are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and colleagues.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Experience using an ERP system (experience with EFACS is advantageous but not essential).
