As the Assistant Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Manager in all the daily tasks that are involved in running a busy store. You will also be responsible for inspiring the team around you to deliver the highest level of service to our customers whilst ensuring that all colleagues are happy, motivated, well trained and feel proud of their role within the local community.
Other responsibilities:
- opening and closing the store
- customer sales
- till /cash management
- food preparation
- the cleaning routine
- stock control
- always merchandising and maintaining a clean and well-presented store
- ensuring that all team members are up to date with all aspects of their job requirements
- ensuring all aspects of health/safety legislation are met at all times
It is a varied and challenging role, and we are seeking an individual with excellent leadership and communication skills along with a hands-on approach. You will also need to be numerate with a flexible approach to working hours.
Applicants must have previous experience within the retail food or hospitality industry, be able to work in a fast paced environment, have the will to work, a smile, common sense and manners.
NORMAL WORKING HOURS-24 and a half per week worked over 3 days
Mon 8.00-4.15
Tue 8.00-4.15
Thu 8.00-4.15 (alternate with Sat)
Sat 7.30-3.15 (alternate with Thu)
You will be required to work 4 full days when the manager is on holiday, you are required to be flexible with your hours to accommodate the needs of the business during exceptional circumstances, to cover holidays and busy trading periods.
