L&F Care Services is looking for compassionate and dependable care workers to support our Letchworth Garden City service.
Ideally, we would like to appoint one person who can undertake the combined live-in relief and waking-night role. However, we understand that this working pattern may not suit everyone, so we are also very happy to hear from applicants who are interested in only part of the available work.
Opportunities include:
- Providing one week of live-in relief cover every three weeks
- Providing a regular 12-hour Wednesday waking-night shift
- Providing two-hour afternoon break-cover shifts
- Undertaking a combination of the above
Applicants do not need to be available for every element of the role. Please tell us which days, shifts or type of care work you are interested in when applying.
Combined role
The combined live-in relief and waking-night position provides 94 working hours over a repeating three-week rota, equivalent to approximately 31 hours per week on average:
- Week 1: Seven days providing live-in care, with 10 working hours per day and a two-hour uninterrupted daily break
- Week 2: One 12-hour Wednesday waking-night shift
- Week 3: One 12-hour Wednesday waking-night shift
During the live-in week, you will stay in the individual’s home and provide person-centred support with daily routines, personal care, medication, meals, mobility, companionship and general wellbeing.
During waking-night shifts, you will remain awake and available throughout the night to provide care, reassurance and support as required.
The afternoon break-cover opportunity involves remaining with an individual for two hours while their live-in care worker takes an uninterrupted break. This may suit someone seeking a small number of regular daytime hours.
Additional flexible daytime hours may also be available. These include two-hour afternoon break-cover shifts in Stotfold and three-hour sit-in shifts in Letchworth Garden City on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Applicants may combine these hours with the live-in relief or waking-night work, or apply for selected shifts only. We are happy to discuss the available combinations with applicants based on their experience, availability and preferred working pattern.
These are permanent care roles. Hours will depend on which part or combination of the available work the successful applicant accepts. As care packages may change, employees may also be allocated other suitable care work within our Letchworth Garden City service in accordance with their contracts.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for these vacancies.
