Responsibilities
- Ensure the site team adheres to the site RAMS and procedures and Electrical standards
- Preparing, implementing, and overseeing, work permits, switching schedules, method statements and risk assessments.
- Supervise a team of site electricians, LV and HV
- General Electrical duties. Install, Test, Maintain and examination of all current carrying equipment up to 1000v ac, 1200v dc.
- Work on HV systems to 11000v under the direct guidance and supervision of ECS qualified SAP and AP
- Safe working knowledge of ECS “Permit to work “ system
- Installation of Electrical equipment such as MCC panels, motors, control equipment inc all Electrically operated fixed and portable equipment
- Selection and erection of cable handling systems
- Fault finding on Electrical equipment
- Works can be varied and at times may be required to undertake other duties such as assisting Mechanical or Civils engineering staff
- Responsibility for the use of a company van
- Will work away from home on occasions when travelling is not in the best interest of the company, (this will tend to be Monday – Friday, weekends back home)
- Implement all of the company’s rules or procedures within the Health and Safety Policy that are appropriate to the activities being undertaken.
- Understand and sign onto all CPP/RAMS on Site and follow Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and rules on Site.
- Always think Safety in mind and look after yourself and your colleagues.
- Wear all appropriate PPE.
Skills & Experience
- Experienced AP on HV systems
- Experience in supervising site works and craft teams
- Good communication skills verbally and in writing
- Experience of working on water utility assets
- Certificate of high voltage operational safety C&G
- Full apprenticeship (C&G 236 Part 1 & Part 2)
- JIB/ECS certification
- Experience and understanding of all types of site safety, method statements and risk assessments
- Experience on all types of electrical circuits, including high voltage, low voltage, AC and DC circuits
- Experience of working to budgets and timescales
