Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to assist with daily living activities and promote the dignity and independence of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients in maintaining their personal hygiene and comfort.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing their condition and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and assist in the development of care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Drive clients to appointments or assist them with transportation needs when required.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong command of English for effective communication with clients and colleagues.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans is advantageous.
- A valid driving licence is desirable for roles that require transportation support.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
