Registered Manager - Children's Residential Homes
Location: Croydon
Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday (9:00 am-5:00 pm) with on-call responsibilities
Salary: £65,000 per annum
About the Role
Harmony Manor Ltd is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to oversee multiple children's residential homes across Croydon.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a motivated individual with extensive experience in children's residential care, safeguarding and Ofsted compliance. You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across our homes, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered and that children and young people achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight across multiple children's residential homes.
- Ensure all homes remain fully compliant with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
- Support, mentor and develop Home Managers and staff teams through regular supervision, coaching and performance management.
- Promote outstanding safeguarding practice and ensure the welfare of children and young people remains the highest priority.
- Monitor the quality of care across all services, implementing improvements where required.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies to ensure best practice.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and significant incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, Ofsted, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
- Monitor budgets, occupancy, staffing levels and overall service performance.
- Maintain accurate records, audits and management reports across all homes.
- Drive continuous improvement and support homes in achieving and maintaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted judgements.
What We're Looking For
- Significant management experience within Ofsted-regulated children's residential services.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Area Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role within children's residential care.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop multiple staff teams.
- Strong organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
- A proactive, resilient and solution-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
