About us
Branch Out Plants is a fast-growing wholesale plant supply business, supplying landscapers, developers, councils and contractors across the UK. As we are heading into our busiest season, we are adding an extra permanent member to the sales team.
You would be based at Mapletrees Nurseries, Yapton Road, Barnham, a short drive from Bognor Regis, Chichester and Littlehampton, with Barnham station nearby. We are a small team, so this role has real influence from day one.
The role
You will be at the centre of how we price and win work: taking client enquiries, building quotations from supplier pricing, chasing nurseries for availability, and keeping our pricing data clean so the business quotes with confidence.
We use AI tools daily to speed up quoting, pricing and data work, and this role is expected to make full use of them. Being capable with them matters to us — as does knowing when to check what they give you.
Plant knowledge is not essential — if you are keen to learn, we will help you pick it up. What matters more is that you are methodical, confident on the phone and by email, and careful with numbers.
What you will be doing
Quoting and supplier pricing
● Log client enquiries and build detailed quotations from supplier pricing and availability
● Turn quotes around within agreed timeframes
● Check plant specifications, sizes and quantities match what the client asked for
● Contact nurseries for current prices, availability and lead times
● Negotiate pricing where appropriate, with guidance
● Flag margin risks or pricing issues to the sales lead
Orders, systems and data
● Keep cost prices, sell prices and margins accurate and up to date
● Maintain supplier price lists, contacts and product records
● Ensure every quote, revision and order is logged correctly
● Help convert quotes into orders and coordinate plant sourcing
● Communicate internally on stock, delivery schedules and lead times
● Support reporting on pipeline, quote values and win rates
What we are looking for
Essential
● Strong administration and data entry skills
● A genuine willingness to learn — you will be picking up plant names, sizes and nursery stock formats from your first week
● High attention to detail, particularly with numbers and specifications
● Comfortable with spreadsheets and business systems
● Capable with AI tools, and sensible about checking their output before it reaches a client
● Confident communicating with suppliers by phone and email
● Excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple live enquiries
● Commercial awareness — you understand that pricing accuracy affects profit
Desirable
● Experience in horticulture, landscaping or construction supply
● Experience preparing quotes or working in a sales support role
● Knowledge of plant names, sizes and nursery stock formats
You will fit in here if you are methodical, calm under pressure, and the sort of person who spots a problem before it becomes one.

● £28,000 – £30,000 per year, depending on experience
