Overview
7.5 Tonne Driver to join our small friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safety and efficiently delivering goods to various locations, ensuring high standards of customer service and compliance with road safety regulations. Duties
- Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry to deliver goods across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured appropriately for transit
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues
- Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and timeliness working with the team
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws and company policies during driving and delivery operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with the organisation of goods within the vehicle to facilitate smooth loading and unloading processes
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver background
- Familiarity with 7.5 vehicle operation is highly desirable
- Valid UK driving licence with a minimum of 2 years' driving experience in a similar role
- Experience in driving 7.5 tonne vehicles or larger commercial vehicles is advantageous
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards relevant to commercial driving
- Ability to operate within tight schedules while maintaining safety and professionalism
