A key part of the role will be deputising for the Engineering Shift Manager during holidays, absence and other periods away from the factory floor. You’ll provide leadership and support to the engineering team, helping to prioritise work, maintain standards and ensure the smooth running of the shift.

You’ll also become fully conversant with Engineering Health & Safety management systems, including Electricity at Work, Gas Safety, Legionella Control, COSHH, PUWER and Asbestos Management.
In the event of an incident or emergency, you’ll take a lead role when deputising for the Engineering Shift Manager, ensuring the correct procedures are followed and appropriate action is taken.
You’ll support the development of the engineering team through a coaching and mentoring approach, including carrying out Return to Work and absence reviews when required. You’ll also support the delivery of plant improvement projects and identified continuous improvement actions within the shift team's designated areas of responsibility.
You’ll contribute to the continuous improvement of business performance by achieving personal and site objectives, supporting the Operating Brilliance Process and working collaboratively across functions where required.
