Tyre Hill House is a welcoming residential family assessment centre where parents and children are supported through an important period in their lives.

We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Casual Family Support Workers who can build positive relationships with parents while keeping children’s safety and wellbeing at the heart of their work.
The role
You will:
- Provide practical support and guidance to parents caring for their children
- Help parents develop their skills, routines and confidence
- Observe and accurately record progress, interactions and behaviours
- Contribute to individual care and assessment plans
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and respectful environment
- Work closely with colleagues and other professionals
- Follow safeguarding procedures at all times
Depending on your shift, you may support families with feeding, play, bedtime and other everyday routines. During waking-night shifts, you will remain awake and available to provide support when needed.
What we are looking for
You will need:
- Some experience of working with children and families
- A caring, patient and non-judgemental approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good observation and written-recording skills
- The ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Reliability, flexibility and clear professional boundaries
- A commitment to safeguarding children and families
Experience in family support, residential care or social care would be an advantage.
