We are seeking an experienced contract Electrical Technician to support the build, integration, testing, and maintenance of next-generation unmanned surface vessels (USVs). This is an opportunity to apply your expertise on highly advanced marine platforms in a fast-paced engineering environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out electrical installation, modification, fault finding, and repair activities on autonomous maritime systems
- Building and integrating electrical systems from technical drawings and schematics
- Supporting vessel commissioning, testing, and system verification activities
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults to minimise programme delays
- Conducting inspections, preventative maintenance, and quality checks
- Collaborating with mechanical, software, systems, and production teams to deliver project milestones
- Maintaining accurate documentation and build records
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong hands-on electrical installation and fault-finding experience
- Experience working within marine environments
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- A practical approach with the ability to work independently and resolve issues quickly
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
Desirable Experience
- Boat building or marine vessel experience
- Low-voltage DC systems
- Electrical integration and commissioning activities
- Prototype, R&D, or new product development programmes
- Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems
