Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections in accordance with MOT testing regulations and manufacturer guidelines
- Conduct MOT tests efficiently, accurately identifying issues and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards
- Carry out repairs, maintenance, and servicing using a variety of hand tools and power tools to restore vehicles to optimal condition
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving parts or equipment safely and effectively
- Diagnose mechanical problems through visual assessments and diagnostic equipment, then implement appropriate solutions
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and services performed for each vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on a range of vehicle systems
- Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in an automotive setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine tasks
- Previous experience conducting MOT tests is highly desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail to identify issues accurately and efficiently
