Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Transport Planner to join our logistics team. Duties
- Assist in developing and implementing transportation schedules to optimise delivery routes and minimise costs
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and clients to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries
- Utilise Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, to prepare reports, schedules, and correspondence
- Monitor shipment progress using IT systems.
- Support management in organising transportation documentation and compliance records
- Communicate effectively with team members and external partners to resolve issues promptly
- Contribute to customer service excellence by providing clear information and updates regarding shipments
- Maintain organised records of transport activities and assist in managing supply chain documentation
Experience
- Previous experience or familiarity with management, logistics, or supply chain operations is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computer literacy skills are required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Basic driving experience or a valid driving licence is desirable but not mandatory
- Leadership qualities and customer service orientation are considered beneficial for success in this role
