Looking to start your career in Planning and want to learn from a high performing team? Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic professional to join its busy Development Management Team.
You will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the Development Management team. This will include responding to pre-application enquiries in relation to proposed development queries and providing planning advice to members of the public as part of the Duty Planning Service. The role will also require you to assist planning officers with internal and external consultations on applications, pre and post decision amended plans, pre-application enquiries and the discharge of conditions. This will require liaising directly with developers, agents and applicants.
You will need to be an extremely organised person, able to take responsibility for your own work and at the same time contribute to the overall team performance. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to deliver high quality advice in a timely manner and efficiently manage your workload. Based at the Civic Offices in Basingstoke, you would report directly to the Principal Planning Officer.
