Exhibitions Joiner — Permanent (PAYE or Contractor)
Location: Workshop-based in Halifax with regular travel to exhibition/event sites — UK-wide and Europe
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Exhibitions Joiner to join our team on a permanent basis. You'll split your time between workshop-based build/fit-out work and on-site installation at exhibition and event venues across the UK and Europe, so this suits someone equally happy on the tools in a workshop and working to tight build-up/breakdown schedules on live sites.
Key requirements
- Proven experience in exhibition, event, or bespoke joinery with an attention to detail. (shopfitting/set-build experience also considered)
- Full, clean UK driving licence — essential, as travel to sites (UK and Europe) is a regular part of the role
- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally for site work
- Comfortable reading and working from technical drawings/CAD plans
- Own hand tools (workshop power tools provided)
- Willingness to work flexible hours around show build-up and breakdown, including occasional early starts, evenings, or weekends
Engagement type
We can offer this role either as:
- PAYE ("cards in") — salary + standard employment benefits, or
- Self-employed contractor — day-rate basis, invoiced work
