Transport Planner
PR4 6HP | Monday to Friday | £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with genuine growth ambitions. As we expand, you will be fundamental to that growth, playing a key role in shaping the future structure of our transport function. It's an exciting, hands-on role, and you'll be fully supported by our existing company infrastructure as you grow into it.
The Role
Based on-site at PR4 6HP, you will plan and manage tramper and day drivers across multiple loading and delivery points throughout the UK. You will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to support out-of-hours contact.
- Plan all of the vehicles and drivers
- Manage the workload/versus available vehicles
- Manage driver rotas, workload, nights out and expenses
- Oversee day-to-day compliance (drivers' hours, tachograph, vehicle checks)
- Manage customer enquiries and coordinate jobs
- Provide spot quotes for customers
- Liaise with maintenance providers to keep the fleet on the road
- Support the recruitment of drivers
- Build strong customer relationships and identify new work opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in transport planning, ideally covering both tramper and day driver operations
- Strong knowledge of UK road transport compliance (drivers' hours, tachograph rules)
- Experience managing multi-drop/multi-collection UK operations
- Excellent communication skills and a confident, customer-focused approach
- Ability to work flexibly, including availability out of hours via mobile
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
