Overview
We are seeking a semi-skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team, based in our Darwen workshop, with regular on-site work mainly in the North West of England, plus some further afield. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding techniques. The position requires a dedicated professional capable of working with diverse materials, including sheet metal, and utilising a range of hand and power tools to produce high-quality products.
- CSCS Card Required
- Driving License preferred but not essential.
Duties
- Perform welding and other welding processes on various metals, including sheet metal, to meet project specifications.
- Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication and welding processes.
- Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to ensure precise cuts and assemblies.
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance, ensuring all welds meet industry standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding and fabricating.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal work, including cutting, bending, and assembling metal sheets.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Applicants should demonstrate attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
