Story is a family-owned contractor with ambitious plans to expand into new sectors and regions. We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Pre-Construction Administrator to support our growing work winning function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful team at the heart of securing new business across the rail, infrastructure and construction sectors.
You will join a high-performing team responsible for identifying opportunities, managing tender submissions and supporting business growth. Working closely with our estimating, commercial and bid management teams, you will play a key role in ensuring opportunities are managed efficiently, submissions are completed accurately and critical business information is maintained and shared effectively.
Based in our Carlisle Head Office, the role offers hybrid working following the successful completion of your probation period.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Bid Manager, you will:

Manage client procurement and tender portals, including downloading, organising and distributing tender documentation.

Monitor client portals for clarifications, addenda and tender queries, ensuring bid teams are informed and actions are tracked.

Compile and upload compliant tender submissions and supporting documentation.

Complete standard tender questionnaires and administrative submission requirements.

Prepare mandatory documentation including forms of tender, declarations and confidentiality agreements.

Support estimating and commercial teams with data management, pricing schedules and report generation.

Monitor opportunity portals and industry sources for new tender opportunities.

Produce Bid/No-Bid summaries and support management review processes.

Maintain business pipeline information and support monthly forecasting activities.

Manage and update SharePoint bid libraries, templates and business development information.

Provide general administrative support across the wider pre-construction, estimating and commercial functions.
About You
You will be an organised and proactive administrator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will enjoy working as part of a team, building strong working relationships and supporting colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, can work to demanding deadlines and is willing to take ownership of their responsibilities. This role would suit an experienced administrator looking to develop their career within a growing pre-construction and work winning environment.
You will ideally have:

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

A methodical, inquisitive and proactive approach.

Previous administrative experience within an office environment.

Experience using SharePoint and Microsoft PowerPoint would be advantageous.

The ability to analyse information and identify anomalies.
