Scotland's Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. We have up to 50 freight services operating every day and we are steadily building capacity for this to grow. The Access Co-ordinator will coordinate and optimise track access arrangements to facilitate the successful delivery of maintenance and third-party projects within agreed planning timescales. They will maintain ownership of the Delivery Unit Possession Plan, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective support for operational delivery.
Here are some of the duties your role will include: -
1. Manage and coordinate all track access and isolation requests within the Delivery Unit, ensuring compliance with planning requirements and operational timescales.
2. Produce, maintain, and manage the Delivery Unit Period Possession Plan, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
3. Maximise the efficient use of possessions by identifying opportunities to optimise access arrangements and minimise disruption to the railway.
4. Prepare and submit worksite and Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) requests through the Possession Planning System (PPS), ensuring all submissions meet required standards and deadlines.
5. Oversee the possession change control process, ensuring amendments are effectively communicated, assessed, and implemented.
6. Process isolation requests and pass to the Isolation Planner.
