Production Operative
Location: Palnure, Newton Stewart
Hours: 40 hours: Monday to Friday with flexibility on timings between 6am and 8pm
Salary: Starting at £13.45 per hour up to £15.45 per hour based on experience. (We are a Real Living Wage Employer).
As a Production Operative at Rowan Glen, you will assist in processing of dairy products while ensuring compliance with all food safety and quality requirements. This is a physically demanding role within a fast paced food production environment and is best suited to individuals who enjoy active, hands on work. You will be trained by an experienced team member, providing an opportunity to develop essential skills in a food production environment. Once trained on an area, independent working will be a large part of the role.
Responsibility:
- Assist with the intake and testing of raw milk.
- Maintain accurate and real-time records of production data.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of products and materials.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as PPM’s, cleaning and factory upkeep.
- Work with supervisors to ensure efficient production and minimise wastage.
· Ensure all relevant procedures are adhered to and all required information is recorded accurately and in real time.
· Ensure products are manufactured and packed in accordance with recipes, production plan and meet product specification.
· Liaise with Administration staff on requirements and priorities and regarding raw material stocks.
· Ensure high levels of Hygiene and GMP are always maintained within all areas in factory including full clean down of equipment at the end of shift.
· Ensure a safe working environment is always maintained and staff follow H&S rules.
· Ensure food safety/quality and product authenticity and Legality is always maintained.
Required Skills/Qualities:
- Willingness to learn and take on training in food production.
- Good work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Able to perform physically demanding work consistently.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict food safety protocols.
Preferable Qualities/Skills:
- Experience in a factory or food production environment is desirable.
- Experience with the following would be beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided: IOSH Managing Safely, HACCP, Food Safety.
