Operations Assistant
Vital Installations — Glastonbury, Somerset
Part-time, 15–20 hrs/week | Hybrid (office, home & warehouse) | £15–£18 per hour
We're looking for a versatile Operations Assistant to become a vital part of Vital Installations. We install and service water filtration and revitalisation systems for homes across Somerset — helping people access cleaner, healthier water. This role combines our customer experience and warehouse/fulfilment work into one varied position. You'll be the friendly voice our customers hear, the organiser behind our servicing schedule, and the safe pair of hands making sure every order goes out right.
What you'll be doing
- Answering calls from new and existing customers, noting relevant details
- Monitoring emails and the online shop for new orders
- Supporting customers through their sales journey, from first quote to installation
- Following up with customers after delivery, and keeping the servicing schedule on track
- Writing content — from customer guides to our monthly community newsletter
- Keeping our website and product listings up to date
- Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders
- Keeping stock and packaging organised, and the warehouse and office tidy
- Handling returns alongside the Operations Manager
What we're looking for
- Someone local to Glastonbury/Somerset
- Great writing and people skills, confident on the phone and by email
- Confident with computers and AI tools
- Organised and comfortable moving between desk-based admin and hands-on warehouse work
- Good attention to detail, especially with orders and stock
