The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is looking to recruit two dispensary hatch assistants to join our team. The positions are both full-time, Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
- Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
- Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
- Sending out review letters.
- Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
- Prescribing Incentive Scheme – issue reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
- Medicine management – liaising and discussing any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
- General ad hoc administration work.
- Flexibility to cover other areas when required – multi-skill mix.
Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8000 patients. Our practice team comprises three GP partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics, and a reception team.
