Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and providing excellent service within our hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to learn about food preparation and kitchen procedures. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Support chefs with cooking and plating as required
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and hygienic, including washing pots, pans, utensils, and equipment
- Maintain stock levels by organising storage areas and notifying management of supplies needed
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support the serving team during busy periods by clearing tables and assisting with customer needs when appropriate
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and guests
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is desirable but not mandatory
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or hospitality sectors is advantageous
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards and basic culinary skills will be beneficial
- Familiarity with serving or assisting in hospitality settings is a plus
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills within the culinary industry
Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
