Overview
We are seeking a self-employed courier to join our logistics team. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and reliably across designated routes, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely service. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the physical capacity for handling various delivery tasks. As a self-employed contractor, you will have the flexibility to organise your own schedule while maintaining high standards of service.
Duties
- Collect parcels and goods from designated warehouses or collection points
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely completion of deliveries
- Load and unload items, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Confirm deliveries with recipients, obtaining signatures or proof of delivery as required
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections using provided systems or apps
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or issues
- Adhere to all relevant road safety regulations and company policies during operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, ideally within commercial driving environments
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car, van, lorry)
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and handle bulky items safely
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Organised with good time management skills to meet deadlines consistently
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area of operation
- Please note this role requires you to own your own large car or van
