We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to lead the kitchen at one of Birmingham's most established and respected community pubs.
Our pub has proudly served the local community for over 15 years and is part of a successful family-owned company operating six pubs across the region. We're passionate about great food, outstanding service and creating a fun, friendly place for both our customers and our team.

About the Role
As Kitchen Manager/Head Chef, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency and customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team to create a positive working environment.
- Overseeing all food preparation and production, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
- Designing exciting seasonal menus and developing our food offering to attract new and returning customers.
- Managing food costing, GP, stock control and ordering to maximise profitability.
- Ensuring compliance with all Food Safety, HACCP, allergen and Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
- Recruiting, training and developing chefs and kitchen staff.
- Working closely with the General Manager to promote food sales and grow the business.
- Coordinating with the front-of-house team to deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Managing kitchen equipment maintenance and helping reduce waste while improving efficiency.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager in a busy hospitality environment.
- A strong chef background with excellent cooking skills and a genuine passion for fresh food.
- Experience creating menus, food costing and developing successful food offers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A thorough understanding of Food Safety, HACCP and allergen management.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage labour, stock and kitchen costs effectively.
- A positive attitude and a desire to continually improve and grow.
