We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Residential Sales Valuer and Negotiator with a genuine passion for property. This is an exciting opportunity to join our experienced, ambitious, and supportive team based in our Saffron Walden office.
We've been in business in Cambridgeshire for over 200 years. We are a privately owned, independent partnership and make buying, selling and taking professional advice easy, enjoyable and rewarding.
Founded in Saffron Walden 1825, we have grown to operate six offices across the region, providing expert advice on property, land, farms, fine art, tractors, and steam engines, alongside hosting regular auctions across these divisions.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be the face of the business, delivering a professional, confident and welcoming service to every client you meet. Working closely with your colleagues, you’ll take responsibility for conducting accurate property valuations, winning new instructions, and identifying opportunities to grow the sales pipeline.
Job purpose
Your day will involve managing enquiries, building strong relationships with vendors and buyers, and guiding clients through each stage of the sales process. You’ll use your market knowledge and negotiation skills to help clients achieve the best possible outcome, ensuring they feel supported and informed from first contact to completion.
Main purpose/scope of the role:
Negotiating and agreeing sales — securing the best results for clients while maintaining transparency and professionalism throughout the process.
Attending clients’ properties to provide valuations — delivering well‑researched, confident valuations that help win new instructions.
Reporting feedback to clients — keeping vendors updated promptly after viewings and maintaining strong communication throughout the sales journey.
Handling enquiries across all channels — responding via telephone, email and face‑to‑face interactions with professionalism and efficiency.
Conducting viewings — showcasing properties effectively, understanding buyers’ needs, and helping convert interest into offers.
Working hours: full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, plus Saturdays on a rota basis, 9.00am – 4.00pm with a day off in lieu.

Good IT skills and enthusiasm for embracing ever changing and advancing technology
