Test Driver (Field-Based)
Location: Field-based across the UK
Travel: UK-wide travel required depending on project needs. Some projects may require overnight stays away from home. Company-provided accommodation and business travel expenses will be covered.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to be directly involved in testing next-generation vehicle technologies. As a Test Driver, you will play a key role in executing test scenarios, ensuring safety during operations, and providing valuable real-world feedback to engineering teams. Your work will contribute to the safe and reliable deployment of advanced mobility systems in live environments.
It is a practical, field-based role suited to individuals who enjoy driving, staying focused over long periods, and being part of a fast-moving, technology-driven team.
Responsibilities
- Operate test vehicles in real-world environments (e.g. ports, public roads, and controlled areas) in accordance with test plans and safety procedures.
- Support autonomous vehicle testing by acting as a safety driver when required, ensuring safe vehicle operation at all times.
- Follow test instructions accurately, including specific driving scenarios, routes, and conditions.
- Monitor vehicle behaviour during tests and provide clear, structured feedback to engineering teams.
- Work closely with engineers and test teams to support smooth execution of testing activities.
Requirements
- Must be aged 25 or above, with a minimum of 2 years’ UK driving experience.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence with a clean or acceptable driving record.
- Strong awareness of road safety and familiarity with UK driving regulations.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to remain focused during long or repetitive driving tasks.
- Good communication skills, able to clearly describe issues and observations.
- Willing to work in field-based environments and travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays when required.
- Basic English communication skills required (Chinese is a plus).
- Previous experience in driving-based roles (e.g. delivery, fleet, or testing) is advantageous but not essential.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Pay: £16.25 per hour
