Duties
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow for diagnostic purposes
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results accurately
- Educate patients about the ultrasound procedures, addressing their questions and alleviating concerns with clear communication
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and imaging data in compliance with privacy regulations
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for use at all times
- Assist in training new staff or students by sharing technical knowledge and best practices in sonography
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to protect patients and staff during imaging procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sonographer or similar role with proficiency in using ultrasound technology
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly and empathetically to patients
- Fluency in English for effective interaction within diverse healthcare teams and patient populations
- Basic IT skills for operating imaging software, maintaining digital records, and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to teach or mentor junior staff or students, sharing technical expertise confidently
- Certification or licensure as required by local health authorities or professional bodies
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently
