Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture & API Design: Build, scale, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and microservices. Ensure consistency and high performance across all system integrations.
- End-to-End Backend Delivery: Lead features from initial database schema design through to deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Code Quality & Technical Ownership: Write clean, production-ready code. Conduct peer code reviews and establish standard engineering practices across the project lifecycle.
- Database Management: Optimize queries, design efficient data structures, and maintain system health across relational and non-relational database stores.
- Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with frontend developers, product managers, and devops to translate business logic into rock-solid software solutions.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Proven track record in Backend Software Engineering, working with server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or C#).
- Technical Depth: Deep understanding of database design (SQL/NoSQL), system architecture, API design, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Tooling & Engineering: Proficient with Git, containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and writing comprehensive test suites.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: You are pragmatic. You know how to balance structural elegance with business deadlines, knowing when to optimize and when to ship.
Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
