Job Overview
The Raw Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of ingredients and packaging materials to support the site production plan and forward demand. This includes calling off volumes against agreed supplier contracts, balancing inventory levels, and maintaining continuity of supply while minimising waste and working capital.
Duties/Experience
- Proven experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle E-Business Suite in a supply chain or procurement role.
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with demand planning tools and techniques to forecast raw material needs accurately.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate across multiple departments and external partners.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or production environments is highly desirable.
Skills
· Experience in supply chain, materials planning, or production planning (preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG).
· Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
· Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Flexible and adaptable – comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly
· Proactive and self-motivated – able to work independently, take ownership of tasks
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Solution-focused mindset – proactive in identifying issues and finding practical solutions
