Expectation of the Duty Manager:
Lead and motivate the team towards providing the highest standards of service.
Reports to:
Stephen McNab, General Manager.
General Job Responsibilities:
- To take responsibility for every task as outlined for the Barback, Bartender and Waiter/Waitress roles plus the tasks specific to the above role.
- Always maintain the cleanliness of the bar/floor.
- To check your schedule and be flexible to work when requested.
- To ensure the staff follow the opening and closing procedures to the standards as laid down by the bar manual.
- To supervise and help with the completion of the daily cleaning duties as per the cleaning schedule or those assigned by your manager.
- To converse with our guests about the bar, drinks list, food menu and specials.
- To be responsible for all equipment in the bar.
- To be responsible for all transactions that occur throughout your shift.
- To be responsible for the security of all stock and money on site when on duty.
- Have a proactive view towards pushing sales.
- To inform the GM of any drop in service standards, issues with drinks or food and report on any customer dissatisfaction.
- Help deliver corrective action for any of the above issues.
- To ensure adherence to all legal restraints regarding weights and measures, age requirements and opening hours.
- To adhere to all company rules and guidelines.
- To assist in training new staff and to act as a mentor throughout their employment.
- Contribute to the creative development of drinks menus.
- Any other duties given to you by the GM.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be bright, friendly and outgoing.
- Have prior experience in a similar role. With particular emphasis on team building and driving service standards.
- Have strong knowledge of classic cocktails and techniques.
