Project Coordinator (Forensic Examiner)
This part-time (0.8 FTE) post is available immediately on a fixed term contract till July 2029. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis subject to commercial performance of the Applied Precision Exeter (ApEx) commercial forensic service and could be extended subject to revenue projections.
Salary will be £33,951 to £39,906 per annum pro rata on Grade E, subject to knowledge, skills and experience.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on Exeter Streatham campus and some from home. National travel may be required for this role, please include details of your ability and willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice.
This role may be subject to DBS and additional background screening up to and including UK Police NPPV/ SC Clearance.
The post holder will be required to participate in an on call rota and work out of hours at potentially short notice. This post is eligible for payment for additional hours, standby/ on-call and out of hours payments where this exceeds your normal working hours. This will be agreed and authorised by management on an ad-hoc basis.
Exeter Innovation works collaboratively with industry and partners, proactively supporting the University in making a positive impact locally, nationally and globally. Applied Precision Exeter (ApEx) Commercial Forensics is the University of Exeter’s forensic consultancy. ApEx has developed a strong track record of supporting law enforcement partners with forensic archaeology, anthropology, and entomology alongside a wide range of niche forensic services. Due to the significant growth in casework, ApEx is hiring a project coordinator (forensic examiner). This role will predominantly support the core delivery team engaging with partners, supporting deployments, and delivery of forensic services. They will also coordinate subcontractor support and facilitate business growth of the service.
The Project Coordinator supports the ApEx Commercial Forensics delivery team with the day-to-day running of the service and is the key point of contact for data requests, monitoring and evaluation as well as resource coordination and casework tracking. They liaise with stakeholders, partners and funders to ensure smooth delivery and that casework and outputs are delivered on time. In addition they are the point of facilitation for any requirements to make use of ApEx’s laboratory facilities.
