Full Time post 37 hours based at Neath Police Station, your working hours will be Monday – Sunday 0800- 1800, with weekend enhancements paid pro rata*

Part time post 18.5hrs based at Merthyr Police station, your working hours will be Monday – Sunday 0800- 1800, with weekend enhancements paid pro rata*

- Shift Allowance, weekend enhancements and expenses will commence following an initial 5-week training, at a venue to be confirmed.
All posts will be required to provide resilience cover at all stations within the force area. Bridgend, Neath, Swansea, Barry, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Central, Merthyr and Talbot Green/Pontypridd.

About the team/Department you will be joining:
The Station Enquiry Officer Team work 7 days of the week. We currently have part time and full-time vacancies at several locations, with options of working shifts between 8am and 6pm, or 8am – 2am (station dependant)
We are small teams situated in 8 stations across the force area; however, we form part of a larger team under the supervision of two regional supervisors.
You will have a base station which will be agreed at the time of a successful job offer, however you will cover in other stations if needed.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
The primary function is to serve members of our communities, providing a resolution at first point of contact at the front desk, either in person, via the telephone or via email.
The role is based on the delivery of a high-quality service, founded on professional training, equipping the post holder to meet the needs and expectations of our communities

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
We are keen to hear from those with strong values in customer service, or those who are experienced in handling first point of contact interactions efficiently and effectively. This is a challenging job where we require unique resilient individuals that can work under pressure, prioritise workloads and use their initiative, whilst managing sensitive and sometimes distressing situations. Individuals need to demonstrate their ability to provide an excellent, empathetic, prompt service to customers whilst putting the victim firmly at the heart of each contact and protecting the vulnerable, supporting victims and helping to protect people from becoming victims in the first place.
We are looking for someone who has experience with the use of Microsoft systems, including Outlook, Word, TEAMS and Excel, and is confident in quickly learning new systems to enhance service delivery. Training will be provided on all internal systems.
Level 3 Welsh Language is desirable but not required to apply. Suitable training will be provided, so you must have the willingness to work towards level three within the first 12 months of employment.
