We are excited to invite applications from experienced Commercial and Contracts Officers who will support the Australia Sector by contributing to the effective delivery of commercial and contract management activities within our legal and commercial function. This role can be located in Canberra, Brisbane or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Commercial & Contracts Director, you will provide co-ordinated support across both business winning and contract delivery, applying sound judgement to manage priorities, support compliance with commercial frameworks and contribute to the achievement of business and program outcomes.
The opportunity
As Commercial and Contracts Officer , your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Supporting the pursuit of business opportunities by coordinating commercial inputs, working with pricing, estimating and supplier teams to ensure timely and accurate contributions to bids and proposals
Assisting in the preparation and coordination of commercial documentation, including non- disclosure agreements, contract change documentation and standard agreements ensuring alignment with internal requirements
Contributing to governance and internal approval processes by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with commercial and contracting frameworks
Supporting project teams by coordinating contract management activities including tracking key obligations, milestones and risks and highlighting issues where appropriate
Maintaining contract data and documentation within the Contract Management System, ensuring accuracy, completeness and accessibility to support decision making and audit requirements
Monitoring contract performance indicators and supporting the management of subcontractor and supplier documentation in collaboration with procurement, ensuring alignment with contractual and commercial requirements
Contributing to the effective operation of QinetiQ’s commercial and compliance frameworks
To be successful in the position of Commercial & Contracts Officer you will need to bring with you:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Accounting, Project Management or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience
Experience in a commercial, contracts, project or business support role with exposure to contract management, governance or bid/proposal activities
Demonstrated exposure to commercial or contract management environments with an understanding of associated processes, frameworks or documentation
Ability to apply developing knowledge of commercial and contract principles in a practical delivery context
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and maintain accurate commercial data and documentation that supports compliance and decision-making
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and support clear consistent messaging
Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work, applying judgement to manage competing deadlines and deliver activities in a timely manner
Proficiency in MS tools, particularly Excel, to support analysis, reporting and documentation
Ability to work collaboratively across functions, building effective working relationships to support delivery outcomes
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold an Australian Defence security clearance, or have the ability to obtain one
