Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Swimming Instructor to join our small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging swimming lessons to a diverse range of participants, ensuring their safety and fostering a love for swimming. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your sports coaching experience and teaching skills in a supportive environment dedicated to promoting water safety and skill development. All positions are paid, including internships, and are ideal for individuals passionate about swimming and education.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to strict water safety protocols
- Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to help swimmers improve their technique and confidence
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of each participant’s development
- Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or safety concerns during lessons
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the pool area and associated facilities
Experience
- Prior sports coaching experience is highly desirable, with a focus on swimming or water-based activities
- Proven teaching ability, with excellent communication skills tailored to diverse age groups
- Certification in lifeguarding or water safety is advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Passionate about promoting water safety, fitness, and well-being through engaging instruction
- Ability to motivate participants and foster a supportive learning environment
