About the Role
This is a hands-on position working within a busy workshop environment maintaining a mixed fleet of HGVs, trailers, vans, and specialist road marking vehicles.
The role will primarily be workshop based in Ellesmere Port, with occasional travel to our satellite depots in Liverpool and Sandbach, along with breakdown and repair call-outs when required.
You will report directly to the Workshop Manager and play a key role in keeping our fleet compliant, roadworthy, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure DVSA compliance
- Complete inspections and safety checks
- Attend occasional breakdown call-outs
- Travel to satellite depots in Liverpool and Sandbach when required
- Maintain accurate workshop records and defect reports
- Work closely with and report directly to the Workshop Manager
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to company standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Mechanic, or Workshop Technician
- Full UK driving licence required
- Welding/fabrication experience beneficial but not essential
- HGV licence beneficial but not essential
