Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter for construction projects to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining various structural components on-site, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and project specifications. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute construction tasks in self storage industry.
- Assemble, install, and fit structural components such as frameworks and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Ensure all fittings are secure and meet quality standards while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Operate various hand tools and power tools efficiently and safely during daily tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment; inspect equipment regularly for safety compliance.
- Follow detailed schematics and technical instructions to ensure precise execution of construction activities.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction roles with knowledge of roofing cladding, carpentry, plastering, fabrication, is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills to collaborate efficiently with team members and supervisors.
- Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Prior experience with site safety procedures is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary. Cscs card required.
