Telecare Administrator
Hours: 16-24 hours weekly
Salary: £13.20 p/h (During Probation) - £13.50 p/h (After Probation)
North East Lincs Carelink – Helping vulnerable people in North East Lincolnshire remain independent and stay in their homes. Provide a range of telecare equipment, with highly trained staff on hand to explain, demonstrate and professionally install each solution. Having a monitoring centre operating 24/7, 365 days a year, to offer help or reassurance – just a call away. The charity has been serving the community for over 30 years.
The Telecare Operator:Supporting vulnerable people in the community to remain independent and supported within their homes through:
Providing a call monitoring service on a rolling shift pattern, answering calls promptly from clients, families and professionals in a courteous and professional manner and dealing with calls for assistance, reassurance and general requests
Person Specification:
Key Tasks for the Role
· Strong Interpersonal skills dealing with a range if people-anxious customers, families and professionals
· Friendly, reassuring, calm and professional manner maintained when working under pressure.
· Work on own initiative whilst following agreed procedures.
· Responsive and able to prioritise workload.
· Accurate record keeping.
· Experience of IT systems including bespoke databases and MS Office.
· Competent literacy skills.
· Understand and work to equality and diversity standards
· Flexible availability, willing to work a rolling rota and available to attend training / meetings outside shift pattern as well as cover shifts to maintain the call centre service.
· Willingness to lone work and attend people’s homes.
· Disclosure of criminal records applies - DBS
Key Requirements for the Role
· To handle emergency and routine calls promptly and courteously, determining the level of urgency and action required in accordance with the set procedures
· Provide reassurance to callers, dealing with their situation sensitively.
· Initiate appropriate action to maintain the caller’s safety and resolve their situation promptly.
· To liaise with family, and agencies involved with the client to ensure they get the support they need.
· To create and maintain client records and stock and update both manual and IT systems in a timely and accurate manner.
· Be flexible outside the agreed shift pattern, agreeing to attend meetings, training and provide cover to ensure Carelink maintains its call centre service.
· Work collaboratively with team members, customers and 3rd parties to the benefit of Carelink
· To promote the services of Carelink and represent them professionally.
· To follow equality and diversity standards when undertaking your duties
