We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team at SDS. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service and experience delivering goods efficiently and safely. This role involves navigating various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of products throughout transportation.
Weekend drivers only
You must be available and willing to complete a mandatory two-day initial classroom training course on a Monday and Tuesday. Both days must be attended.
Duties
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Follow delivery schedules and assigned routes, adapting to changes when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
- A valid driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
- Experience driving a commercial vehicle is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills when dealing with customers and team members.
- Ability to safely lift and handle items weighing up to 25kg.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
