Duties
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maternity cover Senior Supply Chain Planner to join the Supply Chain team in Widnes (up to 12 months).
You will be required to perform a level of management and coaching with your team as well as managing your own portfolio of products. You will be responsible for managing purchase quantities and timing in line with stock level and sales demand, to maximize the rotation and minimize the working capital while ensuring good product availability.
Additionally, you will ensure that the stock quantity, quality and rotation is in accordance with business requirements for your defined product range, deciding when, how and how much to order, in the most efficient way.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- The Senior Supply Chain Planner will take responsibility with limited supervision from their manager and will manage and coach planners
- Takes on projects to improve the supply chain function either in the local team or within the EMEA supply chain team or cross-functionally
- Responsible for all own portfolio and also for team being responsible for their own portfolios
- Find root causes for missed orders and can define measurements to avoid issues in the future
- Solves complex customer requests or supplier/customer complaints for the team
- Responsible for the product availability and stock level for defined product range
- Generating and managing all necessary production orders, purchase orders and transfer orders
- Where relevant, ensure availability of raw materials, resource and containers to plan production for finished goods, liaising with site to ensure production happens as planned
- Manage inbound shipping with carriers contracted by Logistics
- Review Segmentation report to ascertain if suggested stock levels are correct, and override where required i.e. Customers gained or lost, seasonal demand changes, market changes as advised by Product Managers
- Investigate and document any non-compliance in supply flow, propose solutions to avoid repetition of non-compliance
We Are Looking For
- Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or equivalent is advantageous.
- Previous experience managing a team is required
- Relevant working experience within a supply chain or purchasing role required and previous experience in an international trade import-export operation is advantageous
- Good knowledge in MS Office, especially in Excel and SAP mandatory
- Good skills in local language and fluent skills in English
- Pro-active, structured, driven and take full ownership to get things done
- You have good planning and analytical skills
