A family run business that is committed to the finest local produce and primarily cooks fresh seafood from the harbour and grass-fed meats cooked over open coals.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring that our culinary operations run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and eager to support our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with waste management and recycling efforts within the kitchen.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential.
- A keen interest in culinary arts and food preparation is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining cleanliness standards.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen setting.
