Set at the end of Worthing's iconic pier, The Perch is one of the South Coast's most recognisable hospitality destinations. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, we welcome thousands of guests each month in a unique seafront setting, combining quality food, genuine hospitality and unforgettable views.
We're looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead this flagship business.
The Role
This is an opportunity for an ambitious hospitality leader to take ownership of a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant. You'll be responsible for driving operational excellence, developing a high-performing team and delivering consistently outstanding guest experiences while achieving commercial success.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll have the autonomy to lead the business, build a strong culture and continually raise standards.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading, coaching and inspiring the management and restaurant teams.
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest service standards.
- Driving sales, profitability and labour performance through effective commercial management.
- Recruiting, developing and retaining outstanding people.
- Managing rotas, stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Monitoring financial performance, budgets and key business metrics.
- Maintaining excellent food safety, health & safety and compliance standards.
- Creating a positive, energetic culture where people enjoy coming to work and guests want to return.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior General Manager within a high-volume restaurant, premium casual dining or quality pub environment.
- A hands-on leader who thrives on the restaurant floor and leads by example.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour, GP and operational KPIs.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Excellent communication, organisation and people development skills.
- The ability to remain calm, decisive and solutions-focused in a busy service environment.
