You will work at the Rhodes Wood Hospital School in Hatfield with an onsite school. The school provides educational services to the young people in our care with a full multidisciplinary team.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide on-hand support to teachers as they design and deliver classroom lessons. This will see you assist in the preparation for these lessons, ensuring the classroom has all materials required and supporting pupils to engage in the syllabus.
You'll be able to think creatively and build a strong rapport with the cohort, encouraging engagement and supporting their learning, behaviour and social skills progression.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Education-related qualifications
- Previous experience of working with children in a school setting.
- Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
- Hobbies/interests/skills that contribute to a wide curriculum offering
- Have experience of working with young people with SEMH needs and/or SEN
- Be able to identify and implement interventions to ensure students engage in lessons and make progress
- Be resilient, flexible, and adaptable in approach in order to meet the needs of each individual
- Be able to empathise and engage easily with young people, offering appropriate and professional support at all times

Join the team at Rhodes Wood Hospital providing care for children and young people aged 8-18 years with eating disorders who require residential care, working on tailored treatment programmes designed for the individual needs of each young person.
There is also an on-site Ofsted Registered school to support young people continue with their education while in hospital. Rhodes Wood Hospital is located on the outskirts of Hatfield, which is easily reachable by car.
