Own day-to-day delivery and quality across plumbing, gas/boiler, and air conditioning works — reactive and PPM. Acts as the technical authority for these trades, manages the AC subcontractor relationship now, with a clear path to building an in-house AC team once volume justifies it.
Core responsibilities:
- Supervise/coordinate plumbing and gas engineers on site allocation, quality, and compliance
- Manage relationship with AC subcontractors — scheduling, quality control, cost control — until in-house capability is built
- Technical sign-off / second opinion on jobs across all three trades
- Support quoting and scoping for plumbing, heating and AC work
- Identify and help recruit AC engineers as the business scales that side up
- Liaise with clients on technical issues (site visits where needed)
- Some hands-on involvement expected, but primarily a coordination/oversight role
Ideal background:
- Gas Safe registered (or strong working knowledge of compliance requirements)
- Broad trade background spanning plumbing, heating/boilers, and ideally AC exposure (F-Gas a plus, not essential on day one)
- Experience supervising or leading a small team of engineers
- Comfortable in commercial/FM environment
- Has own network of trades contacts — useful for building the AC bench later
