Flexible Vehicle Inspector & Collection Driver
We are looking for a reliable and flexible Vehicle Inspector / Collection Driver to work with our busy used vehicle dealership.
We purchase vehicles from all over the country, usually 5+ vehicles per week, and we need someone who can act as our eyes on the road before bringing the vehicles back to our site.
The Role
You will be responsible for the full collection process, including:
- Organising collection appointments with sellers
- Planning your journey and collection times
- Travelling to vehicles across the UK
- Carrying out a thorough inspection before collection
- Checking bodywork for dents, scratches, paintwork issues and previous repairs
- Checking for obvious mechanical faults, warning lights, unusual noises and other issues
- Checking tyres, wheels, interior and general condition
- Making sure the vehicle matches the description we were given
- Road testing the vehicle
- Reporting any unexpected issues to us before taking the vehicle
- Driving the vehicle safely back to our site
What We're Looking For
You don't need to be a qualified mechanic, but good vehicle knowledge is essential. You need to be confident inspecting a used vehicle and spotting anything that doesn't look, sound or feel right.
We're looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, organised, comfortable travelling around the country and able to work independently.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Pay & Inspection Bonus
- Competitive hourly rate
- Additional inspection bonus for carrying out thorough and accurate vehicle inspections
- Travel/collection time paid at the agreed hourly rate
- Flexible hours depending on vehicle collections
- Typically 5+ vehicle collections per week
The inspection bonus is there to reward someone who takes the time to inspect vehicles properly and spots issues before we take the vehicle, potentially saving us from unexpected costs when it arrives back at site.
What We Provide
We supply trade plates and appropriate insurance for vehicle collections.
This is a very flexible role rather than a standard 9–5 job. It could suit someone with experience in the motor trade, vehicle collections, vehicle appraisal, mechanics or car sales.
You'll essentially be our eyes on the road — we need someone we can trust to inspect the vehicle properly, report back accurately and then get it safely back to site.
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
