About Us
Burnhouse Engineering & Fabrication Ltd is a growing fabrication and pipework contractor specialising in stainless steel and carbon steel systems across food & drink, pharmaceutical, industrial and process sectors. We manufacture and install high-quality pipework, skids, vessels and structural fabrications throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced Stainless Steel Pipe Welder to strengthen our workshop and site team.
The Role
You will be responsible for welding and fabricating stainless steel pipework to a high standard, primarily for hygienic and industrial applications.
Typical work includes:
- TIG welding stainless steel pipework (mainly 304L / 316L) schedule pipe
- Purge welding and maintaining weld quality
- Reading and working from fabrication drawings and isometrics
- Pipe fitting, preparation, alignment and tacking
- Working with hygienic tube and schedule pipe
- Site installation and workshop fabrication
- Ensuring work is completed safely and to specification
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel pipework
- Strong pipe fitting ability
- Experience welding thin wall stainless
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work both in workshop and on site
Preferred:
- Current coding (or previously coded) to BS EN ISO 9606-1 in Manual Tig
- Purge welding experience
- Pharmaceutical / food-grade pipework experience
- Orbital welding knowledge (advantage)
